What a useful review needs
A useful equipment review explains who the product fits and what must be checked before buying. Mounting requirements, available space and the manufacturer's instructions come before a recommendation.
- Identify the exact model and the current manufacturer documentation.
- State the mounting surface, doorway measurements or floor space required.
- Separate manufacturer specifications from observations made during a documented test.
- Describe limitations and the likely reason to choose another category.
- Link the reader to current availability rather than presenting an undated price as current.
Our testing disclosure
Earlier wording on this page described a multi-week testing programme and verified load tests. We do not have the records needed to substantiate those claims. That wording has been removed. The current equipment guide is a research-based buying guide.
A future hands-on review must identify the model, test date, setup and actual observations. It must also explain any limitations. We will not award a verified load rating from an informal home test.
Choose the mounting category first
